Pre-match preview

Viktoria Plzeň

Salim Lawal made his first start for Plzeň in last weekend's league match against Sigma Olomouc, only days after joining from NK Istra 1961. Karel Spáčil, who had managed only fifteen minutes across his previous two starts, is now sidelined with an ankle injury, joining Jan Paluska, Matěj Vydra and Václav Jemelka on the treatment table.

Denis Vavro and Cheick Souaré are expected to return to the eleven after neither played against Sigma Olomouc, while Tobiáš Pališčák has covered both right-back and centre-back, having started in each role in the past month.

Union Sint-Gillis

Union Saint-Gilloise are without three players for the trip to Viktoria Plzeň: UEFA suspensions rule out Adem Zorgane and Raul Florucz for two matches each, and Kamiel Van de Perre for one. Zorgane and Van de Perre have been regular starters in Union's last five matches, so their absence changes the midfield.

Relebohile Mofokeng is expected to take the right-wing spot of the suspended Florucz after the pair shared the role in recent matches. Rob Schoofs and Darius Olaru are expected to fill the two vacated central-midfield roles.
