Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen will be able to call on Niclas Füllkrug from the start after the striker produced another impressive substitute appearance in the DFB-Pokal. His two goals against Borussia Dortmund brought Daniel Thioune's side level from 2-0 down, before Marcel Sabitzer's stoppage-time free-kick ended their cup campaign. Füllkrug had also scored twice in the previous league victory at Mainz, underlining his importance to a Werder attack that has found the net in every Bundesliga match this season. Thioune has made clear that the forward will return to the starting eleven unless an unexpected problem occurs.
Werder's main uncertainty concerns left-back Olivier Deman, who is still dealing with pain in his foot. Mick Schmetgens could deputise again after starting the cup tie in Dortmund. Marco Friedl, Amos Pieper and Arthur are expected to complete the defensive line. Ludovit Reis and Youri Regeer have established themselves as strong midfield options, with Chuki operating further forward. Marco Grüll provides attacking movement from the left, while Mitchell Weiser and Eren Dinkçi compete on the opposite flank. Justin Njinmah is available again but is not expected to start.
