How our lineups come together

We show the lineup as it looks right now. If the coach says on Friday that his goalkeeper will not play, that is on our pitch on Friday. Not last week's eleven, not a guess.

In four steps

  1. We start from the last matches Who played the previous games, who is fit, who is suspended, and what the coach shows in the build-up. Based on that, we put together the eleven that is most likely at that moment. Where two players compete for one spot, you see a question mark and a second name.
  2. We read what the coach says Press conferences, training reports and the news of the day. An injured player, a goalkeeper being rested, a new signing cleared to play: then we adjust the lineup the same day.
  3. We keep updating until kick-off The expected lineup is not a snapshot from Monday. It can change until an hour before the match, and under every lineup you see when it last did.
  4. The official eleven replaces the prediction As soon as the club or the federation announces the lineup, about an hour before kick-off, it takes the prediction's place. After the match the page stays, with the result, the scorers and the substitutions.

One afternoon, five screens

Saturday 26 September 2026. At his press conference, Jürgen Klopp says Alexander Nübel will start in goal against Greece, not Marc ter Stegen. We kept the five screens as they looked a few hours later (Dutch time).

This is not about those three apps; they are good and show much more than lineups. It is about the hours between the press conference and kick-off. That is where the difference is, and that is where we keep watch.

What you see here

  • The question mark. If two names are possible in one spot, both are shown. We do not hide doubt behind a confident eleven.
  • Injuries and suspensions under the pitch, so you can see at once why someone is missing.
  • The time of the last change under every lineup.
  • The confirmed eleven as soon as it exists, in the same layout, so you never have to look for it.
