Barcelona
Barcelona's emphatic win over Alavés has not solved Hansi Flick's defensive shortage. Eric García, Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen and Xavi Espart are all missing, leaving the coach with another difficult decision over his back four. Frenkie de Jong filled in at centre-back on Saturday and could partner Pau Cubarsí again, allowing Gerard Martín to operate on the left. Starting Alejandro Balde and moving Martín inside is the main alternative.
Further forward, there is more continuity. Rodri and Pedri should anchor midfield, with Fermín López providing runs into the box after contributing a goal and two assists against Alavés. Dani Olmo remains unavailable. Anthony Gordon is pushing for a recall after coming off the bench, while Lamine Yamal and Raphinha are expected to retain prominent attacking roles. Barça have scored freely in domestic competition, but Villa's organisation will also test how effectively Flick's reshaped defence copes when possession is lost.
