Manchester United

Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo are both doubtful before Tottenham visit Old Trafford, although each is expected to start. Mason Mount is the alternative to Mainoo in midfield if the latter is not fit enough to begin the match.

Patrick Dorgu is ruled out with a hamstring injury, leaving Luke Shaw expected to continue at left-back. Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui are carrying injuries of their own, though neither is currently expected to start against Tottenham. Benjamin Šeško and Manuel Ugarte are also unavailable with leg and knee injuries respectively. Elsewhere, Harry Maguire and Diogo Dalot are expected to retain their places on the right side of the defence.

Tottenham Hotspur

Micky van de Ven is the one injury concern in Tottenham's back line ahead of the trip to Old Trafford. Marcos Senesi, who has made one start in the last five matches, is the alternative at left centre-back if Van de Ven is unavailable. Pedro Porro remains out with a muscle injury, and Archie Gray is expected to return at right-back after appearing as a substitute against Aston Villa.

De Zerbi has used the same 4-2-3-1 shape in all five recent matches. The other centre-back place is open between Tosin Adarabioyo and Jan Paul van Hecke, while Destiny Udogie and Andy Robertson are the alternatives at left-back. Dejan Kulusevski, Mykhailo Mudryk, Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons remain out, although Kulusevski featured in an 11-a-side training match this week as he continued his recovery.
