West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that Nolan Galves will play no further part this season after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament. Mikey Johnston remains sidelined with a broken leg.
There is better news on Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Callum Styles, who are hoped to be back in contention after recent knocks and are expected to start again, Morgan out wide and Styles at right-back. Aune Heggebø, who has scored once in four starts during this run but been substituted in each of them, is set to continue in attack, with Isaac Price again expected on the left of midfield.
Birmingham City
Max Bird, Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Demarai Gray have returned to training and are in contention for Birmingham City’s trip to West Bromwich Albion, although a start is probably still beyond Bird and Gardner-Hickman. Seung-ho Paik is likely to miss out after suffering an injury on international duty with South Korea, which should leave Tomoki Iwata in his regular defensive-midfield role.
Up front, August Priske is expected to return after sitting out the Middlesbrough game, having started the previous four matches. Luis Vázquez deputised against Middlesbrough and made his first start, while Priske was substituted in each of his four starts. Alex Cochrane is expected to keep his place at left-back ahead of Kristoffer Lund. Marc Leonard remains doubtful because of an Achilles problem, and Scott Wright is not part of the squad.
