Vitesse

Rüdiger Rehm is expected to stick with an unchanged starting lineup following Vitesse's 1-0 away victory over FC Eindhoven. Naoufal Bannis scored the winning goal with a free kick shortly before half-time, helping the Arnhem side make a successful start to the second period. Vitesse defended their lead throughout the second half and kept their first clean sheet in four league matches. Friday's home fixture against FC Emmen offers an opportunity to close the gap on one of their rivals in the upper half of the table.

Rehm has welcomed several players back to training this week. Jeredy Hilterman completed Tuesday's session after missing training on Monday, while Chiel Olde Keizer has also returned following a hamstring injury. Ricardo-Felipe Schwarz is still working separately as he recovers. Xiamaro Thenu also trained individually on Monday but is expected to start in defence. Bannis should continue as the central striker, supported by Filipe de Carvalho, Pontus Dahbo and Ayman Sellouf.

FC Emmen

Menno van Dam is expected to retain the lineup that secured a 2-1 victory over Almere City last weekend. Two early goals from Jack Cooper-Love helped FC Emmen extend their unbeaten run to four matches and move level on points with Almere. Van Dam would prefer to keep the same starting eleven throughout a demanding schedule, although managing the physical condition of several players remains important.

Freddy Quispel was given a rest from one training session this week, while Torben Rhein is still building up his match fitness. Both are nevertheless expected to start against Vitesse. Van Dam has praised Rhein's ability to accelerate play and win possession, as well as Quispel's movement around Cooper-Love. The coach also sees opportunities to exploit the space behind Vitesse's attacking full-backs. Defenders Yanis Dede-Lhomme and Rodney Kongolo will have the task of containing Naoufal Bannis, who has already scored ten league goals this season. Mustafa Abdullatif remains unavailable as he continues his recovery.
