Preston North End

Liam Lindsay remains doubtful after a dead leg disrupted his training this week, with Preston hoping he would return to the grass by Friday ahead of West Brom's visit. Harry Clarke remains out with a knee injury and Liam Gibbs with a muscle problem, while Lewis Gibson will also miss out.

There is better news in midfield: Stanley Mills is available again after serving his suspension, while Johnny Kenny, who has scored twice in his last five matches, is expected to keep his place. Caleb Wiley needs more time before returning to play after featuring in a behind-closed-doors match, and Theo Carroll is also doubtful because of an ankle injury.

West Bromwich Albion

Toby Collyer is not expected to start after picking up a hamstring injury during the win over Blackburn Rovers. The midfielder had begun four of West Brom's previous five matches, so his absence would mean a change in the middle.

West Brom have moved Brayann Pereira, Chris Mepham and Callum Styles between right-back and centre-back in recent weeks, and all three are expected to retain their places alongside George Campbell in defence. Aune Heggebø has started three of the last five games but been withdrawn in the second half of each, and is not expected to return to the eleven. Mikey Johnston and Nolan Galves remain unavailable with leg and knee injuries respectively.
