Sporting CP vs Galatasaray: result, lineups and stats

Sporting CP

Luis Suárez Charris has scored four goals in his three league starts this season, and has been withdrawn before full time in each of them. He leads the line again against Galatasaray.

At the back, Iván Fresneda continues at right-back ahead of Georgios Vagiannidis, and Zeno Debast keeps his place in the middle of defence over Eduardo Quaresma, with barely any difference between either pair over the campaign so far. Sergi Altimira has been Sporting's standout performer in this run.

João Simões returned to full training this week after recovering from a foot fracture but remains unavailable for Galatasaray. Pedro Gonçalves has left the club on loan to Fiorentina. In attack, Flávio Gonçalves continues on the left, with Nestory Irankunda the alternative there.

Galatasaray

Galatasaray will be without their two most influential figures from the opening weeks of the season for the trip to Sporting CP. Victor Osimhen, who has scored six goals in his last four appearances, misses out through injury, and midfielder Mario Lemina - a starter in three of those same four matches - is also sidelined with a muscle problem.

Aleksey Batrakov, handed his first start last time out, keeps his place in behind the front line, while Uğurcan Çakır continues in goal ahead of back-up Jankat Yılmaz. New signing Rafael Leão, a €38 million capture from AC Milan, has yet to feature and is not among the starters this week.
