Schalke 04
Schalke's attacking difficulties have become increasingly difficult to ignore. The newly promoted side have not scored in any of their first three Bundesliga home matches, while Wednesday's 2-0 cup defeat at Dynamo Dresden added to the frustration. Miron Muslić has called for greater aggression and intensity against the ball, but injuries continue to restrict his choices. Janik Bachmann and Luca Vozar are the latest absentees, leaving the coach particularly short of midfield options.
Satoshi Tanaka is expected to remain central to Schalke's approach after earning praise from Muslić for his growing influence. Mertcan Ayhan could start alongside him, although Dejan Ljubičić is back in contention after returning as a substitute in Dresden. Captain Kenan Karaman is also available again, potentially strengthening the attack behind Hee-chan Hwang. The South Korean has already started the last two competitive matches and now faces one of his former clubs. Edin Džeko and Junior Adamu provide alternatives if Muslić changes his attacking combination.
