Hamburger SV

Hamburger SV go into Friday's visit of Borussia Mönchengladbach with five members of the first-team squad in doubt. Nicolás Capaldo and Yussuf Poulsen have been working with the club's rehabilitation staff and will be assessed day by day, while Fábio Vieira, Bilal Nadir and Nicolai Remberg are also doubtful. Shafiq Nandja and Sebastiaan Bornauw are in contention for a place in the back three.

Louis Lemke and Zakaria El Ouahdi are competing for a place in midfield, and Daniel Heuer Fernandes is set to continue in goal. Miro Muheim, who has scored twice and added an assist in his last three starts, is in line to keep his role through the middle. Hamburg won three of their previous five matches before back-to-back defeats at SC Paderborn and Eintracht Frankfurt, and sit 15th with nine points. Centre-back Mario Vušković remains unavailable because of a doping ban.

Borussia Mönchengladbach

Franck Honorat could return for Borussia Mönchengladbach's trip to Hamburg and help fill the gap left by Nicolas Kühn, who will miss out with a muscle strain picked up in training. Hugo Bolin is also ruled out with a muscle strain, while Moritz Nicolas remains sidelined with persistent muscular problems. Daniel Batz is set to continue in goal.

Jan Leszczyński remains out with a knee injury, and Kevin Diks is doubtful for personal reasons. Further forward, Lukas Ullrich and Wael Mohya are both set to continue after combining for five goals and assists over the last five matches. Borussia Mönchengladbach have lost three of their last five league matches, having drawn 0-0 at home to SC Paderborn last time out, and sit 18th with four points.
