Mile Svilar will not be involved against Sassuolo; Roma have confirmed he is out with a foot injury and will not return until after the November international break. Devis Vásquez, who started for the first time away at Manchester United, and Pierluigi Gollini are the two options in goal.

In front of them, Daniele Ghilardi is in line to return at right-back ahead of Gianluca Mancini after coming off the bench in that game, while the other centre-back spot could go to either Evan Ndicka or Mancini. Ndicka also came off the bench in Manchester. Bryan Cristante and Marten de Roon look poised to continue anchoring midfield, and Matías Soulé, who has two goals and two assists in his last five appearances, is expected to continue alongside Rodrigo Mora.

Sassuolo

Kristian Thorstvedt returns from a one-match suspension for the trip to Roma, giving Aquilani an alternative to Ibrahim Sulemana, who started in Thorstvedt's absence against Fiorentina. At the back, Fali Candé is out with a knee injury and Jay Idzes is suspended, so Duje Ćaleta-Car, who started four of Sassuolo's previous five matches, is expected to return.

Sebastian Walukiewicz also made his first start against Fiorentina and is competing with Ignace Van der Brempt at right-back. Further forward, Domenico Berardi has started all five of Sassuolo's last matches, Armand Lauriente has scored twice in that span, and Sebastiano Esposito should lead the line for a side that conceded six against Lazio and four against Fiorentina in their last two home games.
