Croatia

Croatia need a response after their historic 7-0 defeat against England, the heaviest loss in the national team's history. Head coach Slaven Bilić has stressed that his side must improve their approach, aggression, fighting spirit and togetherness against world champions Spain.

Bilić must also manage the workload after four internationals in a short period. Dominik Livaković remains the first-choice goalkeeper, while Josip Šutalo is expected to return in central defence. Luka Modrić is still likely to start despite the demanding schedule. Josip Mišić is an option to give Mateo Kovačić a rest, while Ante Budimir is the leading candidate to start as the centre-forward.

Spain

Spain arrive in Split with a perfect nine points from their opening three Nations League matches. Luis de la Fuente will continue to rotate his squad and has stated that no player will exceed 270 minutes across this four-match international window.

Marc Cucurella, Pau Cubarsí, Marc Pubill and Mikel Oyarzabal are among the players expected to return to the starting lineup. Víctor Muñoz is also a serious candidate to make his first senior start.
