Guatemala need a victory at home against Suriname to keep their Nations League quarter-final hopes in their own hands. Luis Fernando Tena is again forced to make changes. Óscar Santis remains unavailable through injury, while Jorge Aparicio is unlikely to feature after suffering a heavy knock in Friday's match in Paramaribo. Rubio Rubín is also dealing with a muscle problem.

Nicholas Hagen is expected to return in goal after Kenderson Navarro started the away match against Suriname. Jonathan Franco is the likely replacement for Aparicio in midfield, while Rudy Muñoz is pushing to replace Matthew Evans. Darwin Lom returns in attack after serving his suspension, with Olger Escobar also expected to retain an important offensive role.

Suriname travel to Guatemala as the unbeaten group leaders after two victories and Friday's goalless draw against the same opponents. Henk Fraser's side controlled much of the match in Paramaribo and created considerably more chances, but were unable to turn their dominance into a goal.

Fraser expects a different type of game in Guatemala, with the hosts needing to win and therefore likely to leave more space. The head coach specifically highlighted the pace available in his attack. Sheraldo Becker is therefore a strong candidate to start alongside Richonell Margaret and Gyrano Kerk. Etienne Vaessen should continue in goal, with Shaquille Pinas and Myenty Abena remaining key figures in defence.
