SC Freiburg
Igor Matanovic and Yuito Suzuki have each scored four goals in the last five games, while Derry Scherhant has added two goals and four assists in the same spell. All three are expected to start for Sunday's visit of Schalke 04.
At the back, Philipp Lienhart continues alongside Matthias Ginter, with Philipp Treu holding his place at right-back. Freiburg remain without Florent Muslija because of a cruciate ligament injury, while Mio Backhaus is expected to continue in goal after starting each of the last five games.
Schalke 04
Dejan Ljubicic is doubtful with a knee injury for the trip to Freiburg after missing the goalless draw with Elversberg. Moussa Sylla returns to lead the attack after Edin Džeko was given his first start in that game, with Džeko now dropping out of the eleven.
Junior Dina Ebimbe keeps his place on the right of midfield, and Robin Gosens, who has scored once in the last four games, continues on the left. Kenan Karaman also keeps his place further forward after starting the draw with Elversberg, while Satoshi Tanaka continues in central midfield alongside Soufiane El Faouzi.
