Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will undergo surgery in the coming days after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Marquinhos and Ousmane Dembélé both remain in treatment for thigh injuries that are expected to keep them out for several more weeks, while Nuno Mendes remains doubtful with a muscle problem.
Lucas Hernández is favoured to continue in defence ahead of Lucas Digne, and João Neves is tipped to keep his place in midfield with Warren Zaïre-Emery the alternative. Further forward, Désiré Doué is expected to continue after recording three goals and three assists in the last five matches.

Keito Nakamura serves the opening match of a suspension for his red card against Nice, while Lois Openda remains sidelined with a leg injury. Paulo Fonseca made many changes for the 3-0 defeat at Hoffenheim with this fixture in mind, which is why Steeve Kango and Rémi Himbert started for the first time in this run of matches. Himbert is expected to keep his place in the side, with Pavel Šulc, doubtful because of a knee injury, the alternative there.
There is also a contest for the goalkeeper's jersey: Rémy Descamps is the pick ahead of Dominik Greif for now, although Greif has started four of Lyon's last five matches. Clinton Mata has the nod over Felix Bacher at centre-back too. Further forward, Corentin Tolisso and Ernest Nuamah have both started regularly and remain productive: Nuamah has scored three times in Lyon's last five matches, and Tolisso has two goals and an assist in that same span.
