Hajduk Split
The 2-1 victory over Dinamo Zagreb gives Hajduk Split a strong reason to retain the same defensive setup against Ajax. Šimun Hrgović, Raci, Dario Marešić and Mathieu Acapandié all started on Saturday, while Abdoulie Sanyang scored the winning goal. Gonzalo García is therefore expected to stay close to the team that won the domestic meeting.
There are still two genuine decisions further forward. Khalil Fayad started against Dinamo and is preferred for the midfield position, but Adrion Pajaziti remains an alternative after not featuring at the weekend. Michele Šego is again the expected striker, although Marko Livaja, who was among the substitutes against Dinamo, is another option. Hajduk begin their Conference League league-phase campaign at Poljud after progressing through eight qualifying matches. The result against Dinamo provides the immediate backdrop to Thursday's European opener.
