Jong Ajax
Jong Ajax return to league action against VVV-Venlo following a lengthy break. Carlos García's side have not played a competitive match since their 0-0 draw with Roda JC on September 18. With eight points from nine matches, the Amsterdam youngsters currently sit in the lower part of the Eerste Divisie table.
García continues to rely on a very young side, with creativity and individual quality in attack playing an important role. Jong Ajax will need to become more efficient in the final third after struggling for goals in the final matches before the break.
VVV-Venlo
VVV-Venlo travel to Amsterdam sitting third in the table with 18 points from nine matches. Marinus Dijkhuizen's side recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Roda JC on Sunday, with Gino Schmidt opening the scoring before Amir Rais sealed the win in stoppage time.
Dijkhuizen switched to a 5-2-3 formation against Roda to mirror the opposition, but could return to a different structure against Jong Ajax. Schmidt remains an important attacking threat, while Nassim Ait Mouhou and Edhy Zuliani also provide creativity further forward. VVV have already won 3-1 away to Jong FC Utrecht this season, although their most recent away game ended in a 3-2 defeat at FC Volendam.
